TYMPANOPLASTY: SURGICAL RESULTS AND AUDIOMETRIC FUNCTIONARIES IN ONE PROGRAM OF MEDICAL RESIDENCE

Abstract:

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the surgical and audiometric results of the submitted patients the tympanoplasty in the period of May of 2009 the January of 2011, in the Service of Otolaryngology and Cervical-Face Surgery of the Agamenon Magalhães Hospital, in a program of medical residence. METHODOLOGY: The retrospective, through collection of data previously written down in a protocol for surgeries of chronic average otitis, created for service and filled study for each patient. Through this protocol was possible to find information epidemiologists and audiologic of the patients. RESULTS: The index of incorporation of graft, with complete closing of the perforation, was of 68,6%, the auditory improvement occurred in 80% of the cases. The aerial-osseous GAP 16,71 average daily pre-operative was of 27,61 dB and the postoperative one were of dB. It had an average reduction of the GAP of 10,9 dB. CONCLUSION: The tympanoplasty is one surgical technique consecrated for the treatment of the average otitis chronic non- cholesteatomatous and in this work we find index of total incorporation of graft and improves auditory fellow creatures the data of the literature of other services of medical residence, being able these taxes to be superior in centers where they do not have professionals in training.
