AXILLARY SINUSECTOMY BY ENDOSCOPIC WAY ON TREATMENT OF 3 PATIENTS WITH OROANTRAL FISTULA AFTER TOOTH EXTRACTION

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To report three patients who underwent endoscopic treatment of maxillary sinusotomy of oroantral fistula. Methods: Patients underwent tooth extraction by dentists and evolved to oroantral and later ipsilateral maxillary sinusitis. It was then referred to Otolaryngological clinic for correction of oroantral through maxillary endoscopic sinusotomy revival of the edges of the fistula and graft mucosal and bone if necessary. RESULTS: All patients had a satisfactory surgical result with improvement of symptoms and no signs of recurrence up to the minimum of 6 months. CONCLUSION: The endoscopic technique can be perfectly applied in these selected cases with good results and suggesting a simple, comfortable and uncomplicated.
