Abstract:

The face is the “ place “ where more we expose ourselves to the middle, and its lines mark our individuality. The lack of movements and of expressions of one on the sides of the face, as well as the alterations in the way of speaking, and above all the impossibility of using the facial pantomime, they constitute one of the most flagrant deface caused by the facial palsy. By virtue of this, the treatment of the facial palsy should be precocious, should begin the complemental exams as soon as they indicate the height, it forms and intensity of the lesion.The prognostic of each case will depend on the patient’s cooperation, time of the intervention, type and extension of the lesion. In the several evolution phases, the physiotherapy and the speech pathology science it has resources to intervene with the main objective of to recover the facial musculature and to reestablish its function. Interdisciplinary conduct in facial palsy, contributes to an integral and effective treatment.
