Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To present a case of tumor of granulate cells of larynx attacking a children. CASE REPORT: I.F.S., 10 years, masculine, medium brown sex, was born in Salvador, Bahia, and student. It looked to otolaryngologic attendance with complaint of dysphonia associated with the discrete dyspnea and stridor during the night. Direct videolaryngoscopy evidenced cystic injury of great dimensions deriving of left vocal fold, too much structures of the larynx without commitment. Computerized tomography of thorax without alterations and neck evidencing such injury. It was decided for carrying through excision of the same one through microsurgery of larynx. During the procedure it was observed that the mass had origin in subglotis. The injury possessed aspect of off-withe, hardened mass, with approximately 2 cm in the bigger axle. Directed material for anatomo-pathological with the diagnostic tumor of cells granulating confirmed for immunohistochemistry. CONCLUSIONS: In such a way we conclude that, although its low prevalence (amongst the benign tumors of larynx, the same answers for only 0.4%), the hypothesis of tumor of cells to granulate must be enclosed when in the validity of an injury of benign aspect to the direct laryngoscopy, standing out still the importance of the immunohistochemistry for confirmation of the diagnosis and still the research of more than an injury in the same agency or different small farms.
