As a treatment option, was nominated lingual frenectomy. CONCLUSION: Ankyloglossia, popularly known as "tongue-tied" is a congenital anomaly, defined with a large middle fold of mucous membrane passing from the gum covering the lingual alveolar crest anterior to posterior inferior face of the tongue, and fiber-dense composed of connective tissue and, occasionally, the genioglossus muscle fibers superior. This change may cause changes in chewing, swallowing, feeding, speech, the last two, more frequent. During the physical examination we could observe apex of the tongue, heart-shaped, small mouth opening during speech, difficulty making certain movements with the tongue, like licking the lips or tongue touch the palate. The surgical approach is indicated genioglossus, whose principle is to perform the excision of fibrous tissue in the submucous, in aid of monopole electrocautery and approximation of the edges with catgut thread 4.0. The postoperative course was satisfactory, with corticoid cream itself to mucosa for 7 days, excellent healing, and recommended a little painful to myotherapy audiologist to get the new automation lingual muscles.
