Abstract:

INTRODUCTION: The VOT (time interval between the release of the occlusion and the beginning of the sound produced by the vocal folds) is the key parameter for establishing the tone of the preceding plosive coincides or follows the release of the joint. Deafness impairs the detection of important acoustic cues in the perception of voicing. OBJECTIVE: To determine changes in VOT before and after the recovery of auditory feedback with cochlear implant (CI).
