Dear Colleagues

This edition accomplishes the eleventh year of continuously publication of our journal and my second year as its editor. It has been a great pleasure to continue the great work done by our colleague Tanit. As published in our Internet page http://www.arquivosdeorl.org.br and also in the journal, all articles published in 2007 will be evaluated. We will have the pleasure and the arduous task of choosing three original articles, one revision article and one case report to be awarded.

The acceptance of our journal by the scientific community has been successful and this has favored the development and the spreading of it. This issue contains original and revision articles and case reports. The quality and the standard of the articles which have been published surely take our journal Arquivos to an international standard.

Such a standard was also noticed on the organization, presentation and involvement of our colleagues in the 6th Congresso da Fundação Otorrinolaringologia no Rio de Janeiro (Congress of the Otorhinolaryngology Institution - RJ), last December. The board of directors of the Otorhinolaryngology Institution and our colleagues Roberto Meirelles and Shiro Tomita friendly welcomed us and they should also be congratulated on the excellent job.

By the way, we would suggest you participate on the 7th Congress which will take place between December 11th and 15th, 2008 onboard of the ship Costa Mágica through a cruise between Santos and Búzios. Updating and Procedures, Delight and Fun! Join us for this and all other activities of the Otorhinolaryngology Institution next year.

I also want to wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy 2008.
