Objective: To describe the findings of eletrochocleograpy in pediatric patients who had searched specialized job in Otolaryngology of Blumenau/SC with complaint of giddiness and/or humming. Material and methods: 13 patients between 8 and 16 years of age with complaint of giddiness and/or humming had been selected taken care of between June of 2010 and January of 2012. All the patients previously had been submitted the otoaryngological evaluation, complete otoneurologic examination, tonal audiologist, speech recognition and acoustics immittance test with research of stapes consequences ipsi and contra laterals. In those patients who had presented alterations and suspicion of endolymphatic hidropsia were carried through examination of eletrochocleographia with bilateral tympanic electrode without sedation necessity. Results: Of the total of cases, 7 patients (53.8%) had presented potential relation of somation inside/action (PS/PA) in the eletrochocleograpy of the normality standards. Of the others 6 patients (46.2%), 3 patients had presented compatible relation PS/PA with endolymphatic hidropsia (HE) bilateral, 2 cases with HE to the right and 1 case with HE to the left. Conclusion: The endolymphatic hidropsia can be a cause of giddiness and/or humming same in the pediatric population and the eletrochocleograpy is the examination of choice for the distinguishing diagnosis.
