RETROAURICULAR KELOID: TREATMENT WITH LOCAL INFILTRATION OF TRIAMCINOLONE

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: keloid is recurrent benign injuries of extreme the coetaneous reply to the trauma and tends to the return. Individuals attacked used to complain of the aesthetically aspect and symptoms as itching and heat. The result is the gradual increase of the volume of the scar. Some theories exist on the formation of keloid, but the real pathogenesis not yet was clarified, explaining the multiplicity of available treatments. The objective of this work is to tell to 2 cases of retroauricular keloid treated with applications to triamcinolone. Stories of cases: 2 cases of retroauricular keloid treated with 5 infiltrations to triamcinolone (40mg/ml) in the body of the injury, solution with lidocaine 2% without vasoconstrictor. 1ml of solution for cm2 of injury was injected. Both the cases had evolved with partial and expressive reduction of the injuries. Questioned on aesthetic of the injuries after infiltrations, both the patients had opted to not the surgical resection. CONCLUSION: the treatment of these cases of keloid with infiltration of triamcinolone got partial resolution of the injury, with good final aesthetic result.
