Abstract:

OBJECTIVES: The breakings of the nose are more commonly found in the buco-maxilo-face trauma. This fact is consequence of the prominent and vulnerable topography in the face. Many patients who look medical attendance for correction of nasal deformities tell description of occurrence of previous nasal trauma that duly was not valued. This work analyzes handbooks of patients with nasal trauma in period 1982 to 2000. METHOD: One is about a retrospective work of handbook analysis of patients taken care of in service of urgency and emergency in the period of 1982 to 2000. RESULTS: The handbooks of 393 patients with the type of boarded trauma had been analyzed. The used treatment was defined in accordance with the circumstance of the trauma, all of emergencies character. The opened nasal breakings had been transformed into closed following of antibiotic therapy. The rhinorragies had been dealt with previous and posterior nasal buffering. The attacked patients more had been of the masculine sex with 256 (66%) of the sample, in this group main the age group corresponded between second and fourth decade of life, 287 (73%). CONCLUSION: The young adults of the masculine sex in general are attacked by displaying themselves the biggest factors of risk for traumas being the traffic accident main the etiological factor for this type of breaking. By being an attacking that the aesthetic one compromises and the respiratory functionality, a delayed behavior repairman through the ruthless techniques, closed unarmed and closed seted or same plastered immobilization must be taken.
