ENDOSCOPIC FINDINGS IN 58 PEDIATRICIAN PATIENTS WITH BUCCAL BREATH
ACHADOS ENDOSCÓPICOS EM 58 PACIENTES PEDIÁTRICOS COM RESPIRAÇÃO BUCAL

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: The present objective study to raise the main ones endoscopic founds in pediatrician patients with picture of buccal breath taken care of in specialized job of Otolaryngology. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The handbooks of 58 patients had been raised, of both the genders, between 5 and 16 years of age directed for service of Otolaryngology for professionals of Odontology and Pediatrician Orthodontic for evaluation of buccal breath. All the patients had been evaluated through examinations of nasal-sinusal and pharingolarynx endoscopy. RESULTS: The main findings had been tonsillary adenoids hypertrophy and/or, signal rhinitis (allergic or non-allergic), shunting line of septum, hypertrophy of inferior cornet and ogival palate. CONCLUSION: The causes for the buccal breath are diverse and multifactorial being the endoscopic examinations of great value in the evaluation of these cases for complementation.
