Fifty-five children receiving first aid at the hospital regional president sage sp from July 2012 to June 2013 were assessed. These children presented with foreign bodies lodged in their ears, nose, and oropharynx. Out of the 55 children, 31 (56.4%) were 3 years old while 8 (14.5%) were between the ages of 4 years and 8 years. With regard to sex, 31 (56.4%) children were girls while 24 (43.6%) were boys. In 38 (69.1%) children, the foreign body was found lodged in their ears while in 14 (25.5%) the foreign body was in their nose. CONCLUSION: Foreign bodies in otorhinolaryngology are frequently observed at the ready-pediatric care service. The treatment may be simple but removal by an unskilled professional or without the proper equipment can result in serious complications and cause anxiety and worry for the parents of these children.
