SURGICAL BEHAVIOR IN GOITER CERVICO-THORACIC: STUDY OF 2600 PATIENTS

Abstract:

Objectives: To present the data epidemiologists, volumetric and surgical behaviors of patients with Gotter Cervico-Thoracic (BCT) submitted to the colecistectomies in Manaus. Material and method: The study was developed from registers of patients submitted to the colecistectomies in the city of Manaus. The 2010 constitute an analysis handbook retrospect of carrying patients of BCT submitted to the colecistectomies in the period of 1979. The data analyzed epidemiologists had been age, sex, dimensions of the gland, used surgical technique. Results: The gotten data ratify the epidemiology found in world-wide literature. Of the 2600 colecistectomized patients, 22 patients had Gotter Cervico-Thoracic, resulting in a frequency of 1% of the cases. How much to the sort, 81.82% were of the feminine sex. How much to the age group, the biggest prevalence meets enters the 51 to 60 years. The volumetric average is of 200-300g of the gland, what it is in accordance with the definition for BCT. How much to the types of incision, it was seen an equivalence of 50% with ample cervicotomy and 50% associate to the esternotomia. How much to the surgical technique employee, was observed almost a totality (80%) of total colecistectomies. Conclusion: It was concluded that in half of the cases the ample cervicotomy was resolutive, excusing the same thoracotomy for the BCT cases. Valley to stand out that the choice of the way had more relation with the topographical growth of what with the volume to glandular, emphasizing the decision medicates in the operative act.
