LARYNGEAL SINGAMOSIS AS RARE CAUSE OF DRY COUGH
SINGAMOSE LARÍNGEA COMO CAUSA RARA DE TOSSE SECA

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To underscore the parasitism chronic upper airway as a rare cause dry cough. CASE REPORT: We report the case of a woman of 41 years with chronic dry cough and a history of use of various medications with no relief. Videolaryngoscopy observed the existence of vermiform in form of a "Y", identified as couple Mammomonogamus (Syngamus) laryngeus, a nematode that inhabits the upper respiratory tract of bison, cattle, goats and poultry, that parasite the man accidentally. CONCLUSION: The laryngopharyngeal is easy to perform and it is essential for the diagnosis of otolaryngologic diseases that cause a dry cough, even unusual entities.
