PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH COMMUNICATIVE EXPRESSIONS IN VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE
EXPERIÊNCIAS PROFISSIONAIS COM MANIFESTAÇÕES COMUNICATIVAS EM VÍTIMAS DE VIOLÊNCIA

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To survey reports among a group of professional support network to combat violence against situations in which communication disorders have been manifested as a result of submission to acts of violence in its various forms, characterizing the disorder and the behavior before the fact. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Activity directed at professionals already cited, students travel to Fight Violence mode distance education (EAD), where they should report the experiments in a forum. RESULTS: For the forum, attended 45 professional and 28 reported having experienced at some point of his career, the dyad violence and disorder of communication. Communicative disorders reported, in descending order, were: delay in language development, muteness / Selective muteness, changes in the intensity of voice, speech disorder, stuttering, language disorders oral and written, hoarseness, speech and / or voice childlike phobia / social isolation, speed of speech, verbose speech, expression accompanied by eroticism and difficulty in expressing themselves. The types of violence mentioned were: sexual violence, neglect and physical violence accompanied by verbal abuse and discrimination. The audiologist was cited 13 times as involved or indicated in the treatment and recognition of the problem. CONCLUSIONS: There is a close relationship between communication disorders and violence. It is paramount to professionals involved in the recognition and treatment of the dyad. The speech therapist, a trained professional for the treatment of disorders of human communication, is that the integration of multidisciplinary support for victims of violence with communicative expressions, however the reference is less than ideal.
