About 25% of the cranium-facial traumatisms they involve the jaw. The fractures of the mandibular condile are usually associated to physical aggressions and automobile accidents, being rare the cases involving sharp objects. The authors describe an interesting and curious case of fracture of the temporomandibular joint by an accident with a butcher's hook.
