Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To contribute to the literature on lymphomas in Waldeyer's lymphatic ring in base of tongue, a rare presentation. Presentation of the case: Male patient, 69 years old, with signs of foreign body sensation in the throat for two months and no other symptoms. Videolaryngostroboscopy showed nodular lesions on the tongue base. Histopathology and immunohistochemistry revealed non-Hodgkin lymphoma diffuse large B-cell germ. Bone marrow aspiration, serology and imaging studies were normal. He was referred to the onco-hematologic monitoring. CONCLUSION: The lymphoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of oral lesions. It is worth noting the paucity of symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis, which strongly influences the prognosis.
