Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To report a case of nasolabial cyst diagnosed at the Otolaryngology Department of the Hospital of Portuguese Beneficent of São Paulo. CASE REPORT: KK, 67 years old, female, Asian, complaining of unilateral nasal obstruction, pain and bulging of the right nasal vestibule region two years ago, frequently associated with inflammation. Physical examination revealed mild swelling in her right nasal wing and effacement of the ipsilateral nasolabial groove, floating with injury and cystic consistency, measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter. Computed tomography imaging demonstrated circumscribed, located in the right naso-alveolar invading space ipsilateral nasal promoting a relationship of contiguity with the nasal mucosa. Treatment was complete surgical excision of the cyst. The material sent for histological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of nasolabial cyst. CONCLUSION: Although uncommon, nasolabial cyst is easily diagnosed and treated when health professionals have the required knowledge of the characteristics of the lesion. In our setting, this lesion presents with rarity in otolaryngology, but it is common for dentists, with a significant number of these injuries being treated by these professionals. If you attend the characteristics of the lesion, is critical for elucidation of the pathology that has a clinical diagnosis, but he can count on the help of radiological examinations in order that the definitive treatment is established.
