Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: To conduct a survey of information on key issues related to the teacher's voice and report actions to combat and prevent researched. MATERIAL AND METHODS: a survey was conducted in 18 scientific articles published between 2004 and 2010, containing the following keywords: voice, professional voice, dysphonia, professor. We searched the proceedings of major national and international references in this subject and libraries, as Bireme and SciELO. RESULTS: we identified the main causes of voice disorders in teachers and how they affect the professional. Also surveyed were measures to prevent and combat such problems. CONCLUSIONS: The study presents information about changes in the voice of the teacher, presenting statistical data relevant to the work of professionals involved in this context and reveals strategies for health promotion and treatment of voice.
