Abstract:

Objective: To verify equivalence between four lists of twenty-five used words monosyllabic for accomplishment of the Percentile Index of Recognition of Speech (IPRF). Material and Method: The studied group was composed for 32 individuals, of the masculine and feminine sex, with age between the 18 and 30 years. All had inside presented auditory thresholds of the normality standards. The individuals had been submitted to the research of the Percentile Index of Recognition of Speech (IPRF), with recorded and standardized material considered by Ribas (2009), presented by means of a CD player connected to an audiometer. The four lists of twenty-five words for each individual had been presented, two in each ear, of form alternated to exclude any variable that could harm the performance of the research. The intensity of the stimulation was of 20 dBNA added the tritonal average. Result: It was observed that the citizens present bigger levels of rightness in lists 1 (96.90%) and 2 (97.16%), and minors in lists 3 (91.94%) and 4 (93.03%). When using the test of variance ANOVA to verify the variability between the lists, this showed that had statistical significant difference between them (p=0,00108), what suggests that they do not reveal equivalents between itself. Conclusion: Ahead of the displayed one, one suggests that for research ends, the lists in pairs are applied (1 and 2) or (3 and 4), when the results will be compared between itself, for these to present levels of similar difficulties.
