Abstract: |
OBJECTIVE: Description of a patient with pilomatricoma of Pinna and literature review. REPORTING THE CASE: A female patient 57 years of age with signs of tumor of the auricular pavilion with three months of evolution, progressive growth, violaceous in color, without pain. She denies other symptoms. Patient known hypertensive on regular treatment with losartan 50 mg daily. CONCLUSION: Originally calcifying epithelium of Malherbe, is a benign adnexal type, which derives from the hair follicle structures. It is most common in the first decades of life, and female, can find it anywhere in the body, but more than 50% of the lesions appear on the head, neck and upper extremities. Slow-growing, out of danger in case of bleeding, inflammation or malignancy.
