Abstract: |
OBJECTIVE: Description of a patient with otosclerosis and review bibliographic. CASE REPORT: Female patient, 56 years of age, white race, whose occupation appears with the housework under 3 years of development of bilateral hearing loss, the gradual introduction, accompanied by nausea and ringing treble, denied otalgia, othorrea denies, denies worsening of hearing loss. CONCLUSION: As to the arsenal of available for the treatment otosclerosis, the surgery, where is indicated is of choice, preferably stapedotomy in any of its forms, the sodium fluoride treatment may be used as a stabilizer of the pathology until the time of surgery, as was done in this case, to obtain excellent results.
