In this page is listed the answers for the frequent questions: |
1 - What should I know about SGP before the first access?
SGP (Publication Management System) is a fully web-based system that allows submission of papers and editorial board analysis. SGP is based on access levels; it means that if an author submits a paper, he/she will have access to the text together with the editorial board only, maintaining its confidentiality from other authors that have not participated in the study. It is essential to inform an e-mail address given that all information and notices concerning status, approval or refusal of the manuscript will be sent via e-mail. If the author changes e-mail, data may be updated at the section "Registration" on the navigation bar. |
2 - How can I submit my study?
Click on the link "Submitting new paper" located on the first page after the login or on the bar on the left, below the indication to check paper status. |
3 - How can I submit Manuscripts through the online system?
The process of submission comprises 9 steps, including information such as title, key words, summary, additional information and submission of images or charts (in format JPG, GIF, PNG, PSD or TIF) and the set up of the article, using a page that has interface with MS Word, which can be edited to create tables, insert images and apply specific text formats. The last step shows a final PDF version of the article and offers the option to submit it for approval or to exclude it. |
4 - How can I send the images contained in the article?
The first step of submission is the inclusion of images sent to the server. The author may send images in groups of maximum 5 images, and after sending the first 5 images, more images may be added, if necessary. Upon submitting them, the authors may insert a title and a key to each figure. They should be in format JPG, GIF, PNG, PSD or TIF format to be accepted by SGP. Images will be reviewed by the editorial board. |
5 - How can I include the name of the authors?
The second step in the submission of articles is insertion, editing and exclusion of authors. To insert it, fill out the Name, Title, Position and CPF Number (which will be later required for the Copyright term). To define the order of importance of authors, you may order them using the arrows, and the first author will be the Main Author, followed by the co-authors. |
6 - How can I add a comment directed to the Editor?
Step seven is the insertion of the Summary in Portuguese and English, Additional Information and Letter to the Editor, which may be used to add significant information about the paper, to be read only by the editor. |
9 - May I start the submission today and complete it on another day?
Yes. While the author does not send the manuscript to be approved it will maintain a pending status for 20 days, waiting for completion and final submission. If the author does not have it approved within 20 days, the study will be automatically excluded from SGP. |
10 - What is Copyright Transfer Statement?
It is a document that assigns copyrights to the author. After all questions are answered, visualize it in a white sheet using the printer icon and have it printed to have the guarantee of copyright. The document should be faxed or sent by mail to be considered valid. |
12 - When I start my submission, I get a message that there is another manuscript submitted by me. Why?
SGP allows authors to send as many manuscripts as they feel like, but studies should be inserted one at a time; after you have completed the inclusion of a scientific paper, you may start to include another one. For this reason, the message indicates that there is one pending paper by the author, which may be accessed by the section "Incomplete Submission" or "Waiting for Approval", found in the navigation bar on the left. |
